Bar Profile Pub n Sub Reno

Love at First Slice

Pub N’ Sub holds a special place in my pizza-loving, first-date-cherishing, college-missing heart. Pub N’ Sub was the first bar I visited in college (and one, for that matter, not covered in “sludge”). I had just joined a sorority (no judgment) and my group of new-found sisters trekked up from sorority row to the landmark on the corner of Ralston and 10th. It was also the location of a very special first date – we shared a combination pizza, some yummy chicken wings and a Negro Modelo – followed by bowling at Starlite Lanes. Oh-so-retro. And I’m willing to bet Pub N’ Sub is the site of many other “firsts” for oodles of college kids and used-to-be’s.

The pizza is great (and totally underrated). I’m a major JJ’s fan, but I occasionally have to remind myself of Pub N’ Sub’s fab pies. Good crust and good flavor make the pizzas a must. The drinks are great, too. I always find a beer I like, opposed to settling for one the bar happens to have. And the atmosphere makes me want to get out of this “real world” (totally overrated) and go back to college. And for those pizza-loving, snow-filled-mountain-riding types, you’ll delight in Shred Night at Pub N’ Sub sponsored by KRZQ. Each Wednesday night during the ski season, KRZQ teams up with the gang at Pub N’ Sub for an evening of music, snowboard videos and excellent prizes.
