Ever seen a rocket launch in person? For an off the beaten path experience, try driving out to the Black Rock Desert for a weekend of prototype rocket launches. There are several rocketry groups with launches scheduled for most weekends in September. Check out the Friends of the Black Rock Desert for dates.

Join the Stanford University ARLISS Project, AeroPac, XPRS and Balls 17 rocketry and research groups to observe experimental and prototype rocket and test satellite launches. You can come out to the Black Rock Desert and camp, observe rockets in person, soak in natural hot springs, and eat some ravioli at Bruno’s Country Club in Gerlach. educational collaborative and other nonprofessional rocketry groups throughout September.
