Compression Fire Arts Festival presented by Controlled Burn
Compression Fire Arts Festival took over Downtown Reno. Burning Man Element Controlled Burn, and Shiva Vista combined forces with Artown and put together the hottest event Reno has ever witnessed. Fire spinners, dancers, performers, and art displays were all found along the Truckee River July 19th. The Reno Fire Department was on site maintaining a watchful eye, and controlling a secured area for these large scale performances.
Reno has caught the Burning Man Virus! People watched in amazement as a symphony of propane cannons lit up the night orchestrated by local DJ Ryno of Shiva Vista. Local City Councilman Dave Aiazzi was center stage throughout the event and said “This is Amazing!” Dave Aiazzi worked closely with local Burning Man groups to make the Reno Compression Fire Arts Festival a reality. The inaugural event was a huge success drawing people from all over the West Coast. Burning Man legend Crimson Rose (Naked Fire Goddess by Night Director of Art Management by Day) was out in support and left this comment for Controlled Burn.
“Congratulations Controlled Burn, Great show to everyone that worked on the event last night. I think that you have continued a tradition of rocking the house. AND started a new one of keeping the heat and turning it up.”
Reno Passport Magazine would like to thank Controlled Burn, Shiva Vista, Burning Man, Reno Burners, the City of Reno, Artown, Reno Fire Department, and all the Great People of Reno for coming out to this epic event. We would like to encourage all parties involved to continue to put together events of this scale. Controlled Burn set a new bar for Reno events, and nightlife by setting Reno ablaze!
What did you think of the Compression Fire Arts Festival? Should Reno continue supporting Burning Man events and integrating new diverse cultural activities? Throw out the props to Controlled Burn, Shiva Vista, and the City of Reno spread the Burning Man Love!
