Vietnamese Sandwiches

Have you ever tried a Vietnamese sandwich?  Golden Flower makes one of the best in town.  The sandwiches come with your choice of BBQ pork, BBQ beef, or shredded pork.  Vietnamese sandwiches are spicy, fast, cheap and light.  The combination of freshly baked French bread, cilantro, cucumber, green chilies and the meat of your choice, make this one of the best quick food options in town.  For $3.50 you can have a healthy sandwich.  The evolution of the banh mi sandwich is rooted in the French countryside ‘salad sandwich.’  The sandwich is a product of the French colonialism in Indochina, which combines native Vietnamese spices including coriander, fish sauce and pickled carrots, daikon, and onions.

Golden Flower has fresh bread delivered daily, but often run out in the evenings.  So if you want to get a sandwich, grab it early, before 4pm.  Let us know about any other Vietnamese sandwich spots on our blog at www.renopassport.blogspot.com.

RP Tip: Try pairing the sandwich with an order of home made pot stickers or their dreamy rare steak pho, Vietnamese soup.
