Dining Review Record Street Cafe

We heard that the owner of Java Jungle and Jungle Vino, Matt Polly, has taken over at Record Street Cafe.  The cafe struggled for years.  We wish you the best of luck with the transition.

Record Street Cafe is an old brick building that used to be an auto shop garage hosts one of the best cafés in Reno, the Record Street Café. It’s tucked away between the train tracks, a parking lot and a couple law offices on the north side of I-80 on Record Street. The café is most popular for its lunch choices; they offer great panini sandwiches, fresh salads and delicious soups. They have recently added breakfast to their menu, which includes omelets, fresh fruits, French toast and sweet and savory crêpes. The vibe at the Record Street Café is very relaxed. The staff is always happy to suffice your cravings, and will accommodate any dish to your liking. Owner Sean O’Hair is a great supporter of the arts and he makes sure there are always intriguing pieces from local artists showcased all around the café. Plus, the pieces are usually for sale by the artist. The Record Street Café offers a variety of microbrews on tap and a good selection of wines. During happy hour, you will see professors, students and workers sharing a pitcher just about every time you step in the place. We have spent endless hours having great conversations in there. They also have free wireless. So, if you are the kind that likes to get your work done with a pint of beer next to your laptop, you are in luck. Make it a point to stop by the Record Street Café next time you are looking for a chill spot to get a drink and some grub. You will enjoy it.  We are interested to see how the menu and operations change.  Good luck guys!

RP Tip: You can get there from I-80 going north on Virginia Street, then a right on 9th Street and right on Record Street.
