Go Green with NV Blue

Go Green with NV Blue
October 27-29th

A new direction is gaining popularity with UNR students, the movement toward a sustainable campus and community. Students want to be part of a community that is improving the quality of life in Reno rather than contributing pollution and waste. Students want to eat healthy local foods. The fall festival which will take place on campus will include an art exhibit, faculty reception, open air market, environmental film series, trashion show and concert featuring local bands. The art exhibit will feature pieces made from re-purposed materials which would otherwise have hit the trash pile. The movies will be free and will play at 7:00 pm on Monday and Tuesday in the beautiful new JCSU theatre. The open air market will include local environmental organizations as well as clubs who will be there highlighting the ways in which they are contributing to the sustainability of our campus. Weds afternoon will feature local bands and local people showing off the outfits they have made out of packaging materials which were otherwise not recyclable. If you would like to meet the students who care about our community’s impacts and who are working hard to reduce them then come on down.
