Reno-Sparks Scheels to Host 5K HOP-A-LONG Race

On Sunday, April 19, 2009, Scheels in Sparks, NV is holding the 5K HOP-A-LONG, beginning at 9:00 a.m. from the Scheels parking lot. Participants can pre-register online at www.active.com, www.scheels.com, or pick up a registration form inside the store. Pre-registration costs $20, and is available through 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2009. Participants who pre-register are encouraged to visit the adidas Packet Pick-Up booth on Saturday, April 18, 2009 between 3:00pm – 8:00pm located inside SCHEELS. Packet Pick-Up will also be available on Sunday, April 19 between 7:30am – 8:30am. Registration costs increase to $25 on Saturday, April 18, 2009, and will only be available in-store. Race day registration will begin at 7:30am and close at 8:30am on Sunday, April 19, 2009.

Water, powerade, and fruit will be available to all participants at the finish line. Awards ceremony will feature 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd, places for overall male and female addition to male and female age divisions. The 5K HOP-A-LONG will also feature a 5K School Challenge, which will give an award for Most Team Members and Best School Spirit. All runners will receive an official race t-shirt. Door prizes from adidas will also be given away following the race; participants must be present to win.
