Java Jungle and Jungle Vino a Reno Pairing Not to Miss

A cozy coffee shop and classy bar sitting together in the heart of downtown Reno.

Every Reno adventurer needs to discover the local business pairing of Java Jungle and Jungle Vino.  You will never be left wondering what to do in Reno once you walk into either of these two establishments.  Morning, day, night, solo, or in a group, you’ll always make the right choice with Reno favorites Java Jungle and Jungle Vino, owner Matt Polley says “welcome to the jungle,” and here is why.

Java Jungle opens at 6am and coffee isn’t their only art on display.  Loved by many is the mosaic tiled floor with lively circular patterns.  Enjoy the red tiled path leading up to their friendly serving counter, giving you the feeling of a cross between “walking the red carpet” and “follow the yellow brick road,” that will make you click your heals.  The walls are full of murals from Java Jungle employees, and local Reno artists.  You will also find pictures, paintings, and other art pieces created by Reno artists decorating the Jungle.  The front doors are adorned with posters of Reno bands and other local events.  One of the best discoveries is the Jungle Java staff’s artistry with coffee, Alex Capello manager of Java Jungle, has been perfecting his coffee trade for 5 years and trains all the barista’s.  If you want a real treasure, catch Alex and ask him for a creative beverage with his finest Latte art.

The atmosphere in and around Java Jungle can’t be found anywhere else.  Inside they have 2 soft couches, café tables with chairs, and a Wi-Fi computer bar.  Outside is one of the few outdoor patios on the river, with shaded seating, and some of the best people watching Reno has to offer.  From business professionals to casual internet surfers, they all can be found taking advantage of the free wireless internet.  Java Jungle even has a public computer if you need to check a quick email, or look something up.

Serving a full selection of drinks Java Jungle has a solution for every craving.  Customer favorites include a “French Press on a crisp morning,” “Fruit Smoothies as an afternoon treat,” or the “Eye Opener when you need a jump start.”  A fine selection of cold beers are also on-hand completing Java Jungle’s full drink menu.

In addition to serving satisfying drinks, Java Jungle is also a Reno hot spot for great food.  Breakfast items are always plentiful and in recent months the menu has expanded to included salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and some killer appetizers.  Recommendations include the “French Foreign Legion” and the “High Roller” sandwiches, the “Margarita Pizza,” and “Tree House Salad.”  You can even enjoy a “Root Beer Float” or an “Adult Float” as a final touch to the day.

A local open mic happens every Monday night at 8pm at Java Jungle.  Local band “Blueberry Love Machines” plays every Sunday 8-10pm on the patio.  Java Jungle is a large supporter of local fundraisers with special events occurring all the time, be sure to check out what is happening next at the Jungle.

With 5 years as a barista and bartender, Alana Fitzgerald is the longest standing employee at Java Jungle and her drink making skills prove why.  This girl knows how to get her mix on, serving up some of the best drinks in Reno–all with a smile.  Manager Matt Shaw keeps the wine list full of top quality selections, and on the first Friday of every month, Jungle Vino unleashes a whole new by-the-glass wine list comprising of no less than 15 wines.  Join them for wine tasting, wine-by-the- glass, and bottles of a fine varietals that give a nod to the New World, while keeping an eye on the latest in natural and organic wine making.  Come in for wine tastings on Wednesday nights beginning at 6:30p.  The tasting includes a food pairing, and at least four wines, all for $15.
