Fire dancer, artist, power mom, and purple Harley riding entrepreneur Leilani Macedo might just be the coolest chick in town. As the owner of Aura Salon and Spa, Macedo seamlessly melds her radiant creative energy with refined holistic aesthetics. We caught up with the busy renaissance woman at Dreamer’s Cafe for a quick Q & A.

RP: Tell me how you got involved with Aura Salon & Spa.

LM: I always held a career dream of opening my own salon with a relaxing and enjoyable environment for my guests and staff. Opening Aura in September of 2006 gave me that opportunity. Quality, service, and a relaxing atmosphere is what Aura is all about.

RP: What’s your cosmetology background?

LM: I attended Cosmetology school in California and Oregon from 1990-1992. I have now been an industry professional for 16 years.  Continuing education is an important part of personal growth, and I recently was fortunate enough to study with Aveda Global Master David Adams in San Francisco.

RP: What are some of the special treatments and services offered at Aura?

LM: Aura is an Aveda Concept Salon.  Based on Ayurvedic principles, we create custom treatments for each guest in alignment with their elemental nature.  From hair color to facials, each guest is treated to a unique experience designed just for them.
