Local Event Reno Air Races & Air Show

Airplane fans get ready. It’s time again for the 44th Annual Reno Air Races.  The five day event draws hundreds of thousands of people to the region.  It is estimated that this event has an 80 million dollar economic impact on the region.  Hotel rooms are a rare commodity in Reno during the Air Races, so make sure plan ahead for accommodations.   A typical day at the event begins at 8 a.m. with the biplane and formula one class races and afternoon races tend to wrap up around 430 p.m.  There is always something in the air to enjoy between races including aerobatic performances, military and civil aircraft flight demonstrations and fly-by’s.  Good views of the action are available just about anywhere in the General Admission grandstands.  Shade is a rare commodity at the Air Races, so bring a big hat, sunscreen and drink lots of water.  Tickets for the event will be available at the gate or through www.ticketmaster.com.  Enjoy the show.
