Local Jewelry Designer Mark Garbarini

The future is now for Mark Garbarini who traveled to Brazil, Thailand and Indonesia collecting gemstones for the creation of his never before seen illuminated jewelry collection. He developed the unique electrified jewelry design at his studio in South Lake Tahoe. This month Garbarini unveils his first limited edition collection to the public. Garbarini studied jewelry design at the Revere School of Jewelry Art in San Francisco and is a fifth generation Californian metalworker. After years of training and experience Garbarini combined the ancient art of silversmithing with contemporary lighting design.

Garbarini’s sterling silver pendant collection is completely handmade and features all natural gemstones. On top of the natural beauty of Garbarini’s designs, his unique contemporary lighting design unveils typically unseen qualities in the gemstones. Within each pendant is a small LED flashlight that illuminates a small locket stash box behind the gemstones. This collection of pendant is precedent setting in the handmade fashion jewelry industry. What separates his collection from the rest is that each pendant and chain is handmade and distinct. Each link of the chain made by hand and of the same alloys as the pendant piece so the two will always match.

Gabarini’s art pendant collection outlets in Reno include the Nevada Museum of Art Gift Shop, The Melting Pot and Rock Your World (in South Lake Tahoe).
