Christine Saari

Reno fashion designer Christine Saari’s fearless “Burner Couture” creations are exquisite in design quality and detail. The talented designer of active outdoor and formal apparel, boldly mixes media, materials and accessories to create fashions that become durable art, while setting style marks for impeccable execution. Saari’s family sewing tradition in the Danish sail-making industry goes back over two-hundred fifty years. One can see the craftsmanship in the stitching, and her incredible taste in each garment.

A classically trained Broadway actress and Actor’s Showcase producer, Saari was educated at the prestigious Circle in the Square Theater Conservatory. Moonlighting as a seamstress for the glamorous art elite, Christine began building a buzz as an amazing seamstress and indie incubator of hot original costume designs. As Master Seamstress for the fast-rising young designer Malan Breton (featured on Bravo’s Project Runway), Saari showcased at Mercedes Benz’s New York fashion week last year.

Recently featured in the Living section of the Reno Gazette Journal, Saari came to Reno–after having shown in New York, Portland, and Monterey–to gain inspiration from the incredible beauty of the high desert and to join the many talented artists in the alternative art scene here. Saari will undoubtedly play a role in developing a burgeoning creative arts community in Northern Nevada that’s on the brink of national acclaim.
