The evolution of the modern ‘smart phone’ has changed the way we communicate, do business, and operate in our daily lives.  One web-based application has been pushed to the center stage in the world of social networking, Twitter.  Twitter allows friends and fans to follow your updates on what you are doing.  You can post messages describing your current adventurous interactions and instantly all your followers have the 411 on what you are doing and where.  Twitter can also update your current status on your myspace and facebook accounts, all from your smart phone.

Twitter allows you to receive and send updates in several fashions through your phone.  First you can interact via text message by receiving and sending updates as text messages.  If you have a large or unlimited text messaging phone plan it’s the way to go and is the most popular way people twitter on the move.  Many smart phones like the iPhone and Blackberry have free third party applications you can download to your phone, such as Twitterberry.  The software runs completely off of your data plan.  These programs require unlimited internet access, but will reduce the amount of monthly text messages you send.  Your last option is the mobile website itself m.twitter.com, this option is perfect for people who are working on with a tight budget, but still need to be connected
