Nightlife Review Imperial Bar & Lounge

The Imperial Bar & Lounge opened last spring and has not looked back.  Imperial is one of downtown’s fashionable lounges that emerged out of the woodwork in 2007.  The interior consists of exposed brick and steel beams in the ceiling, with a large u-shaped bar in the center of the lounge.  There are two nice pool tables in the back space, and the walls are lined with booth seating and leather ottomans, providing a casual atmosphere.  Imperial has a loyal local following of hipster, coeds and young professionals, mostly 20 and 30 somethings.

We brought a group of friends to the Imperial for an undercover food sampling.  We were surprised to see that no items on the menu exceed $11.   We started with the frites, skinny shoestring style fries, which were served with a flavorful garlic lemon aioli dip.  The artichoke fennel and crispy prociutto salad served with Dijon vinaigrette was enjoyed by the group.  Our overall crowd favorites included the Sicilian pizza, fish tacos, Mole salami, and the Ossau-Iraty cheese.

Imperial is open from 11 am to early in the morning, seven days a week.  They have a good happy hour Sunday through Thursday from 5pm to 7pm and 10pm to Midnight, $3 well drinks, and $2 Bud/Bud Light drafts.  The Imperial kitchen is open from 11am to 2am every day.
