Local Non-Profit Profile: Reno Bike Project
![]() The Reno Bike project is a local nonprofit organization that combines a bike shop, public work space, and a community outlet for affordable bikes. Volunteers take bikes that have been donated by the community and refurbish them to a high level of precision. You can work on your bike with their tools and ask a volunteer for help if needed. All for three dollars an hour and you learn how to repair and maintain your bike. The volunteers are not only taking time to refurbish bikes, but also to educate the public on bike repair, awareness, and safety. The Reno Bike project serves a very diverse crowd, which is exciting considering many people on bikes will solve a lot of problems. If you have an old bike in your garage, bring it down for a tune up. Better yet, donate a bike to the Reno Bike project. www.renobikeproject.com RP Tip: You can drop off donations on Weds-Saturday, Noon to 6pm. Look for them in the alley between Bell & Ralston Streets.
