BIG TRUCKS ARE BACK AT SOMERSETT FOR TOUCH-A-TRUCK AND FALL FESTIVAL
Somersett is gearing up for their 3rd annual Touch-A-Truck and Fall Festival on Saturday, October 24 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. in Somersett Town Square. The free family event gives children and families a chance to see some very unique vehicles up close. Whether it is a fire engine, ambulance, steam roller, street sweeper or a front loader, kids can get up close and talk to the operators to learn about the job and the vehicle! Everyone can also enjoy a Fall Festival in the Town Square featuring a fall themed Farmers Market including fresh pies and other treats of the season. Minton Family Farms will have vine-fresh tomatoes, nuts, apples, persimmons, and other fruit of the season. Other activities will include a haunted house, pumpkin patch, pumpkin walk, hayrides, Velcro and rock walls, live music by “Ambush”, beer, cider, brats, caramel apples, and a free raffle. The first 140 children who arrive in their Halloween costumes will also receive a free treat. The event will also include a non-perishable food drive to benefit the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. Wagon Ride tickets will be $2 or free with the donation of 6 non-perishable food items; Pumpkin walk $1 or 3 non-perishable food items. There will be a costume contest and parade at 2pm with prizes awarded.
To get to Somersett Town Square, take I-80 to Robb Drive exit and turn left on Sharlands Avenue. Sharlands turns into Somersett Parkway and goes into the Somersett Community. Turn in at the second roundabout for the Somersett Town Square and The Club at Town Center; 7655 Town Square Way.
