UPDATE: Fundraiser May 10, 2008 5pm to 11pm at Se7en Teahouse and Bar
The bar holding all the liquor and tea for the Se7en Teahouse & Bar, collapsed in late April. At least one member of their staff had to visit the hospital. I met up with owner Huong Thai, who is dealing with insurance companies that don’t want to pay out. Here is a picture I took Wednesday April 23. There is a contractor repairing the problem. Reno Passport is co-sponsoring a fundraiser benefit event for Houng and Se7en Teahouse & Bar? The fundraiser will be on May 10, 5pm to late to celebrate ‘Seven’s Up and running’ re-opening party. Reno Passport will provide sound and a DJ from 8pm to 11pm, next door in the vejra yoga lounge. If anyone else would like to participate, please get in touch with me via this blog platform.

GigsRus.net will assist in mini and major media promo for the effort and we suggest the community embark on a pledge-drive campaign in earnest–before the event. Idea: Local retailers can place small cash & coin containers at their points-of-sale to collect supporter donations. Idea: Se7en can provide interested supporters with a PayPal account address so folks can be directed to make direct donations online. Idea: Create a “PledgeCast” in all social networking communities to post blogs soliciting donations for the fundraiser effort, with an agreed upon monetary goal.
Cheers and let’s get this done for our firends at Se7en. Who’s down?

Is urging its readers and onlookers to come on over on May 10th as well.
We don’t have much, except nuttiness, and maybe a few thirsty people. Every bit counts.
We miss you, Se7en, speedy recovery.
